Dermaroller

Laser hair removal

This is the latest and one of the most effective methods to smooth wrinkles and acne scar spots; treat pregnancy stretch marks; to enhance skin firmness and flexibility. How can a single method treat different problems? What do they have in common? – The lack of collagen! If your body could produce more collagen then you wouldn’t get any of the above mentioned problems. The Dermaroller treatment naturally encourages your body’s own collagen production in the areas it is applied. It helps to prevent or even reverse the process with collagen loss.

What is dermaroller or collagen induction therapy?

This therapy is performed by a roller that has several microneedles on it. Depending on the roller and skin problem the microneedles pierce the skin 0,5-2,2 mm deep according to the length of the microneedles.

Why is it good for us?

Because dermaroller therapy increases effectively the production of collagen. The needles „break up” the old collagen bands that anchor the wrinkles, sunk in scars and strias.

How does this therapy work?

These microwounds start the body’s own collagen production in the deeper layers of the skin. The microneedles of Dermaroller pierce the skin but they don’t remove the superficial layer of the skin as during a laser face lift. So the healing period is much shorter. As soon as the skin swells a little the punctures of the microneedles start healing immediately. It starts the body’s excellent healing process producing new elastic fibres. The procedure may last for 6 months.

How long does the healing last?

Depending on the length of the microneedles (in accordance with the depth of the wrinkles, scars) it takes 12-48 hours.

What parts of the body can Dermaroller be used on?

Anywhere, like the face, arms, neck, below the eyes, abdomen, chest, thighs, buttocks, hand, fingers, etc.

How many times should the therapy be repeated to have a proper result?

The therapy should be repeated 3-4 times a month. The skin should rest as long as it is healed completely.

Who is Dermaroller therapy not recommended for?

Diabetic patients, pregnant women and those predisposed to keloid scarring.
If you have recurrent herpes you have to take anti-herpes medication for prevention.

Is the therapy painful?

No! Dermaroller therapy is performed with the use of an anesthetic cream in our medical center so it causes a minor inconvenience only.

Whom to recommend Dermaroller therapy for?

Those who don’t want to pay for an expensive laser face lift. This treatment is an alternative to the laser face lift but it is cheaper and you don’t have to stay at home for weeks after the treatment. It improves the dilated vessels, too – especially if an additional IPL-treatment is performed. Practically you don’t have to miss work and don’t have to protect your skin from sunshine. Dermaroller therapy can be used even in the summer months, too.

What are the side effects of Dermaroller therapy?

A short redness and swelling of the skin, that doesn’t keep you at home. The bacterial superinfection is to be prevented, but in case of an infection it can be treated with antibiotics. Scarring is very rare. Small white dots (milia) may occasionally form – your physician can remove these easily. Acnes may occur rarely in the treated area.

Is there any difference between a Dermaroller therapy performed by a beauty specialist or a physician in his office?

YES!!! The Dermaroller used by a beauty specialist have only 0,5-1 mm long needles that punctures the superficial layers of the skin only. So its effect is quite superficial. The Dermarollers used by physicians only have max. 2,2 mm long needles that punctures the deeper layers of the skin, too. Only this can treat effectively acne scars, strias and wrinkles.
